Gameplay:

12 is Better Than 6 is a top-down shooter at its core. However, it implements stealth mechanics into the game, and they become a necessary part of the gameplay. The game gets very difficult if you do not utilize stealth properly because enemies are very quick to shoot you in the face, and you die in a single hit. You either have to have a very quick reaction time or the element of surprise, which works the best in most any situation.

The shooting mechanics are not the easiest to get accustomed to. The guns are somewhat realistic, and you need to manually cock the pistol as well as manually release the chamber so you load more ammo in (that is manual as well). It is actually a very cool feature which is not always present in shooter games, and it makes 12 is Better Than 6 stand out, in my opinion.

Graphics:

The art style of this game is in black and white. It is an interesting way to approach the graphics, and it captures the atmosphere of the wild west setting surprisingly well. The only color in the game is the red blood, which makes the game feel more exciting and interesting to look at. The cutscenes and environments are designed and drawn very well and are nice to look at. The UI is very simple and utilizes the screen space well. The interface is relatively intuitive, and it shows your ammo wherever your mouse point is, and it visualizes your ammo being loaded into the gun, which is a pretty cool addition.

Music/Audio:

The music in the game wraps the entire wild west atmosphere around the experience. It captures the classic wild west feel that any game set in this time period should have. The atmosphere certainly feels like a wild west shooter, especially because of the music. The sound design is also well done. The guns have good sound effects and the general sound effects are well made and fit in with the style of the game.

12 is Better Than 6 is a shooter that stands out with unique mechanics that aren’t often present in games in the same or similar genre. The stealth features are a neat addition to the gameplay, and it allows for different approaches to situations instead of running in guns blazing like many games are. The gameplay feels smooth and the gunplay is a unique experience. The graphics are very well done and give the game a unique atmosphere. 12 is Better Than 6 is a great top-down shooter that will provide players with a fun and unique experience.
